history

The first written mention of Únějovice came in 1379 as the property of the royal hunter Ctibor Tlám and owner of the Pušperk castle. The fortress was probably built at the transition from the 14th to the 15th century by his son Jan, who was unable to hold the Pušperk Castle . In the second half of the 15th century, the Knights Aunjowsky von Schönhof ( Únějovský z Krásného Dvora ) owned the estate. In 1538 the town of Taus acquired the Únějovice manor and united it with the Herštýn manor . As the Herštýn castle became uninhabitable, the Únějovice fortress became the administrative seat of the manor. Because of the city's participation in the uprising against the Habsburgs, their goods were confiscated by the court chamber in 1547. Two years later, the Karlstein burgrave Sebastian Markvart von Hrádek acquired the Herštýn estate with the desert castle and the associated nine villages for 900 shock groschen. He had the Únějovice fortress transformed into a Renaissance seat with a residential building and a farm yard. From 1593 the rule belonged to Humprecht Czernin von Chudenitz , followed by the Kotz von Dobrz and the Schakawetz von Schakawa knights ( Žákavec ze Žákavy ); Since all these owners lived on other estates, the Únějovice fortress lost its importance as a noble seat and was only inhabited by lordly officials. In 1626 the Herštýn rule was joined to the Bystřice nad Úhlavou rule. In 1711 the Counts of Czernin von und zu Chudenitz acquired the goods and added them to the Chudenitz rule . The fortress was converted into a granary after 1720. Until the middle of the 19th century, Únějovice was subject to the Chudenitz rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Ouňovice / Auniowitz 1850 a municipality in the Klatovy district and judicial district Neugedein. From 1868 the municipality belonged to the Taus district . The Czech municipality name was Úňovice t. Ouňovice , since 1924 the village has been called Únějovice . In 1900 the village had 285 inhabitants, in 1930 there were 283. In 1950 the population had fallen to 190. Between 1980 and 1990 Únějovice was incorporated into Koloveč . In 1990 the village only had 72 inhabitants.
