Srby (German Sirb ) is a municipality in the Okres Domažlice in Plzeňský kraj in the Czech Republic . The municipality has 386 inhabitants (2006) and extends over an area of 20.45 km². It is located about 15 kilometers northwest of Domažlice in the Radbuza valley .
history
The place Srby was mentioned for the first time in 1312. The name of the place can be explained with the settlement of Serbs or Sorbs. In administrative terms, Sirb formed a municipality in the judicial district of Hostau and in the Bischofteinitz district from the middle of the 19th century .
After the Munich Agreement , Sirb was added to the German Reich and until 1945 belonged to the Bischofteinitz district .

The municipality of Srby consists of the districts and cadastral districts Medná ( Meeden ), Polžice ( Pollschitz ), Roudná ( Rouden ), Srby and Vítání ( Wittana ). The Ferdinandovo Údolí ( Ferdinandsthal ) desert also belongs to Srby .
