history

Puclice was first mentioned in 1379. It was part of the rule of the nearby Lacembok Castle.

The Puclice estate belonged to the brothers Tobias and Stephan von Šlovice (German: Schlewitz) in 1456. When visiting the Horšovský Týn district in 1654 and 1655, Puclice was judged to be economically in good order, in contrast to all of the surrounding villages. At that time, Křenovy (German: Kschenowa) and Šlovice (German: Schlewitz) also belonged to Puclice. In the tax roll of 1656 Šlovice was listed as belonging to the Puclice manor. In 1789, Šlovice was also mentioned as part of the Puclice allodial estate.

History of the Puclice fortress

Puclice Castle

The fortress, which still exists today, was built from wood at the end of the 14th and early 15th century. It belonged to Bušek from the Bohuchvald von Hradek family.

At the end of the 15th century, the noble family of Šlovický von Šlovic rebuilt the fortress in the Renaissance style and lived there until the end of the 17th century.

Then the party was sold to Jaroslav Hora von Ocelovic. He turned it into a baroque style castle. However, remnants of the original wooden structure have been preserved in the west wing.

Through the Širntyngár family , the festivities went to the Trauttmansdorff dynasty , who, together with the village of Puclice, incorporated them into their possession Horšovsky Týn (Bischofteinitz).

From 1998 to 2004 the fortress was restored and today serves as the town hall, office, kindergarten, public library, assembly room and museum.

Community structure

The municipality Puclice consists of the districts and cadastral districts Doubrava ( Dobrowa ), Malý Malahov ( Kleinmallowa ) and Puclice.
