history

The Kohlstädt charcoal burner settlement was established in the 18th century when the Counts of Stadion settled the forest edges in the Českokubická vrchovina, which belonged to the allodial rule of Kauth .

In 1837 Kohlstätten or Kohlstädt consisted of 20 houses with 222 mostly German-speaking residents. The parish was Maxberg. Until the middle of the 19th century Kohlstätten remained subordinate to the Kauth rulership.

After the abolition of patrimonial Kohlstätten / Šnory formed from 1850 a district of the municipality Tlumačov in the judicial district of Taus. In 1862 the village consisted of 20 houses in which 228 German Catholics lived. From 1868 the village belonged to the Taus district . In 1869 152 people lived in the 21 houses in the village. In 1890 Kohlstätten had 167 inhabitants, of which 166 were Germans and one Czech. Ten years later Kohlstätten had grown to 22 houses, but only had 148 inhabitants. In 1930 108 people lived in the 23 houses of Kohlstätten. After the Munich Agreement , Kohlstätten was separated from Tlumačov and added to the German Empire as a district of Neumark . Between 1939 and 1945 the village belonged to the district of Markt Eisenstein . After the end of the Second World War, Šnory came back to Czechoslovakia and again became part of the municipality of Tlumačov. Most of the German residents were expelled. The place was hardly populated after that and the abandoned houses were demolished. In 1950 Šnory consisted of only one house and had four residents. In 1961, Šnory and Pelechy were reassigned to Stráž . At that time, eight people lived in Šnory, in the subsequent censuses the place was uninhabited.

After Pelechy formed its own municipality on November 24, 1990, the uninhabited district of Šnory became an exclave between the municipalities of Pelechy , Česká Kubice and Pasečnice . In the 1991 and 2001 census, Šnory had no residents. The Šnory exclave was assigned to the Pelechy municipality at the beginning of 2012 and at the same time lost the status of a district. Overall, the place consists of only one property.

Local division

Šnory is part of the Pelechy cadastral district.
