In the 1760s, the Counts of Stadion had a manorial court built in the spring ground belonging to the allodial rule of Kauth , which was named after Philipp von Stadion . After the farm burned down in 1780, the Kauth lordship allowed three families from Maxberg to settle there. In 1837 the Dominikal settlement of Philippsberg , which had been conscripted for stables, consisted of two farms and a hunter's house. The parish was Maxberg. Until the middle of the 19th century, Philippsberg remained subordinate to Kauth.
After the abolition of patrimonial formed Philippsberg / Filipsberg 1850 a district of the municipality Tlumačov in the judicial district Taus. in 1862 the settlement consisted of five houses in which 44 German Catholics lived. From 1868 the village belonged to the Taus district . In the second half of the 19th century, the settlement on the language border grew rapidly and became mixed languages. In 1884 a German school opened in the village. The Ústřední matice školská feared further Germanization and a year later set up a Czech school in Pelechy , in which the children of the Czechs from Philippsberg were also taught. In 1890 Philippsberg had 194 inhabitants, of which 117 were German and 77 were Czech. The Czech place name was changed from Filipsberg to Filipova Hora in 1924 . After the Munich Agreement , Philippsberg was separated from Tlumačov and added to the German Empire as a district of Maxberg. Between 1939 and 1945 the village belonged to the district of Markt Eisenstein . After the end of the Second World War, Filipova Hora came back to Czechoslovakia and again became part of the municipality of Tlumačov. Most of the German residents were expelled.
