The valley of the Alzou near Rocamadour |
The Alzou is a river in France that runs in the Lot department in the Occitania region . It rises in the municipality of Marinhac-Lentour and generally drains west to southwest through the Causses du Quercy Regional Nature Park . Below Gramat it reaches the karst area of Causse de Gramat and there, depending on the water flow, partially seeps into the subsoil. It passes the steep cliff of Rocamadour in the form of a dry valley and after a total of 31 kilometers flows into the Ouysse as a right tributary in the municipality of Calès .
