The Ouysse (in the upper reaches: Louyssé ) is a river in France that runs in the Lot department in the Occitania region .

It rises under the name Louyssé in the municipality of Espeyroux and generally drains from there in a south-westerly direction. At Thémines it reaches the karst area of Causse de Gramat and seeps into the underground all year round. It then crosses the Causses du Quercy Regional Nature Park largely underground and only comes to the surface about 20 km further northwest, a little south of Rocamadour in several karst springs . The Ouysse then runs largely to the north, picks up the Alzou from the right at the old watermill of Caoulet and, after a total of 41 kilometers, flows into Lacave as a left tributary into the Dordogne .
The Ouysse only covers about 1/4 of its way above ground, the rest runs underground.

The Ouysse comes to the surface south of Rocamadour as a huge river in several karst springs . The three largest are the Source de Cabouy , Source de Saint-Sauveur, and Source de Fontbelle . They are all at the bottom of a dry valley .
The Source de Cabouy ( Eng . Source of Cabouy) is on the border of the municipalities of Rocamadour and Calès at 115 meters. The slightly bluish shimmering spring pot has a diameter of about 30 m and can pour up to 30,000 l / s . A pumping station for drinking water was built at the edge of the spring, but it no longer exists today. In 1977 the Source de Cabouy was driven up to 835 m in one dive.
The Source de Saint-Sauveur (English source of Saint-Sauveur) is located at an altitude of 112 meters, about one kilometer west of the source of Cabouy. On the mountains above are the ruins of Saint-Sauveur, a former Cistercian building . The bottom of the 25–30 m wide and turquoise shimmering spring pot is covered with sand. The river that rises there joins the source branch of the Source de Cabouy after about 700 m. In 2005 the source was dived up to 182 meters.
The Source de Fontbelle is located on the left bank of the Ouysse near the Caulet mill. The calcareous water in the small spring pot has a slightly bluish shimmer. The spring was connected to the drinking water supply.
