Amadeus Guitar Duo

The Amadeus Guitar Duo is one of the Canadian Dale Kavanagh (1958 *) and her husband, the German Thomas Kirchhoff (* 1960) formed guitar duo . The duo has performed in over 850 concerts in more than 50 countries in Europe and North , Central and South America and Asia . It has recorded numerous productions for radio and television ( BBC , ZDF , CBC , WDR , BR , TRT, etc.). There are 15 CDs ( Hänssler Classic ).

career

Since its foundation in 1991, the Amadeus Guitar Duo has performed regularly with the Prague Chamber Orchestra , the Mainz Chamber Orchestra and the Mannheim Chamber Orchestra , the Philharmonic State Orchestra Halle , the International Philharmonic , the Thuringia Philharmonic Gotha-Suhl , the Philharmonia Hungarica , the Capella Cracoviensis , the President Orchestra Ankara and the Philharmonie Südwestfalen .

Composers like Harald Genzmer , Gheorghe Zamfir , Roland Dyens , Jaime Zenamon , Christian Jost , Carlo Domeniconi , Gerald Garcia , Martin Herchenröder have written orchestral concerts for the Amadeus Guitar Duo. Compositions dedicated to the duo Stephen Dodgson , Harald Genzmer, Jaime M. Zenamon and Christian Jost.

In 1992 the duo founded the International Guitar Symposion Iserlohn , which today is one of the largest festivals of its kind in the world with over 200 participants from more than 40 countries, concerts, master classes , lectures and exhibitions.

The duo has been building up the guitar class at the Detmold University of Music as professors since 2003 .
