Amanda Chanfreau

Amanda Chanfreau (* 1983 in Helsinki ) is a Finnish artist and postal stationery card designer . She is particularly known for her tattoo work .

Life

Chanfreaus grew up in Mariehamn after her parents moved , where she attended school. After graduating in visual arts from Åland Adult Education Center (Ålands Folkhögskola) in Finström -Pålsböle in 2001, she studied for two years in the image and form program at Wiks Folkhögskola in Uppsala and then completed a one-year training course in Stockholm Konstskolan Idun Lovén in the field of sculpture and then until 2007 a three-year textile craft training at HV Skola.

In 2011 she designed three “Åland Summer” postal stationery cards for the Åland Post , each with a circulation of 9,000 and a special cancellation . In 2012 she designed the stamp and the special cancellation for the 20th anniversary of the Åland Islands Peace Institute (ÅIPI). In 2013 she also designed the postal stationery card series “Tagpfauenauge” including special postmarks with a circulation of 170,000 for Åland Post. The accompanying stamp was Åland's sepac stamp of the year.

Amanda Chanfreau is also active as a painter and illustrator and in other areas of the visual arts. She lived and worked for some time in San Cristóbal de las Casas , Mexico . She currently lives in Malmö , Sweden.
