Amenemnesut was the second ancient Egyptian king ( Pharaoh ) of the 21st Dynasty ( Third Intermediate Period ) and ruled around 1044–1040 BC. The origin of Amenemnesut is unclear. Possibly he is a son of Smendes I. and Tanetamun; elder brother of Psusennes I.
supporting documents
Is occupied Amenemnisu only by a tip cap from the grave of Psusennes I. Tanis with the entry of the title of both rulers. In the priestly family tree of Memphis he is listed as the predecessor of Psusennes I. Manetho , who ascribes four years of reign to him, places him after Psusennes I. He was probably very old when he came into power and made Psusennes I his co-regent towards the end of his reign.
An oracle of Amun located at the beginning of the reign of Amenemnisu perhaps the return of the oasis Kharga exiled opponents ( Banishment Stela ). According to another opinion, the date relates to the high priest Mencheperre .
