content

The series is about four best friends named Zack , JC , Ted and Gilby . The four try to survive their first year at West Boulder High in Boulder , Colorado and leave no stone unturned in ending up with the opposite sex and experiencing their "first time".

Zack tries to win Lisa's heart, but is a bit clumsy and remains unsuccessful (at least initially). Ted is a rich boy who has some problems with his girlfriend Nancy and is more focused on school than sex. JC is more likely to attract women old enough to be his mother. Gilby is a typical class clown and is always causing trouble. He's a lovable freak who thinks up lines for women but doesn't get any attention from them.

Reviews

  • “The OC California blend produced by MTV based on the American Pie pattern was shown on Pro7 in German-speaking countries. By no means as bad as its reputation, the series can even come up with decent situation comedy at times, but the bottom line is that it remains easy entertainment for the MTV generation "
  • "With madcap hijinks and sophomoric stunts, Now What was both wildly hilarious and compellingly honest."
  • Ute Nardenbach described the series in the Lübecker Nachrichten as a “rather flat sitcom” and said the series played “at most [in the] C-League” and spoke “as a target group - as the certainly not accidental name similarity to the“ American Pie ”series suggests lets on - more male teenagers with an affinity for body fluids and silly fecal humor ”.
