Amidoschwarz 10 B is a bisazo dye from the application group of acid dyes . It is used in biochemical research.

presentation

Amido black 10 B is synthesized by a double azo coupling to H-acid as the coupling component. First, at a low pH, diazotized 4-nitroaniline is reacted with H-acid to form a red monoazo dye ( acidic coupling ). Coupling of the monoazo dye with diazotized aniline at high pH gives the end product ( alkaline coupling ).

use

Amido Black 10 B is used in forensic examinations to find blood on possible fingerprints . The blood proteins are colored blue-black. In a variant of Van Gieson staining , it is used with picric acid to stain collagen and reticulum . The dye has other uses in electrophoresis .

The dyeing of wool with Amido Black 10 B results in a blue-black shade with very good light fastness properties , but moderate wet fastness properties. The dye may be used to manufacture cosmetic products that only come into contact with the skin for a short time.
