Clayton Drumm, a cowboy who does any job for money, can save himself the last minute by agreeing to take on a job for a railroad company. The settler Matthew Sebanek refuses to sell his land to society; Drumm should get her problems off her neck. Drumm rides to the ranch, where he not only meets the owner, but also his beautiful young wife Catherine, who - bored and sexually frustrated - feels drawn to Drumm and falls in love with him. Her husband also befriends him. When Sebanek finds out that his wife is sleeping with him, he beats her up; Catherine struggles, shoots at her husband and flees with Drumm believing that she has killed her husband. The seriously injured Sebanek recovers and chases after the couple with his brothers. Meanwhile, the railway company, cheated of its target by Drumm, has decided to solve its problems through eliminations with the help of killers. Drumm and Catherine return to Sebanek to defend his land with him. After the success, Drumm rides away.
