Amphoe Kapoe ( Thai : อำเภอ กะเปอร์ ) is a district ( amphoe - administrative district) in Ranong Province . Ranong Province is located in the southern region of Thailand .
geography
Kapoe District is bounded by the following Amphoe (from north clockwise as seen) Amphoe Mueang Ranong Province Ranong, Phato District of Chumphon province , the Amphoe Chaiya , Tha Chang and Ban Ta Khun the province of Surat Thani and Suk Samran District again in Ranong . To the west lies the Andaman Sea .
The " Khlong Nakha Wildlife Sanctuary " is located in the southeastern part of the district . The mangrove forests of Maenam Kapoe (Kapoe River) are part of the "Ranong Biosphere Reserve".
The Laem Son National Park lies partly on the southern coast of the district. The 315 km² park was opened on August 19, 1983 as the 12th Marine National Park . It consists of a total of about 60 km of coastline and 15 smaller islands.

Amphoe Kapoe is divided into five communities ( tambon ) , which are further divided into 34 villages ( muban ) .

Local administration
Kapoe ( เทศบาล ตำบล กะเปอร์ ) is a small town ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district, it includes parts of the Tambon Kapoe.
There are also four "Tambon Administration Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ) for the Tambon or the parts of Tambon in the county that do not belong to any town.
