Nong Chang ( Thai อำเภอ หนองฉาง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) of the province of Uthai Thani . The Uthai Thani Province is located in the northern region of Thailand .

Adjacent counties (from southwest clockwise) the Amphoe Huai Khot , Lan Sak , Thap Than and Nong Khayang the province Uthai Thani and Nong Mamong the province Chai Nat .

In 1917 the district of Uthai Kao ( อุทัย เก่า ) was renamed Nong Chang.

Local administration
There are two municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:
- Khao Bang Kraek ( เทศบาล ตำบล เขา บาง แกรก ) consists of the whole tambon Khao Bang Kraek.
- Nong Chang ( เทศบาล ตำบล หนองฉาง ) consists of parts of the Tambon Nong Chang and Nong Suang.
There are also eight “ Tambon Administrative Organizations ” ( องค์การ Tam ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO) for the Tambon or the parts of Tambon in the county that do not belong to any city.
