Amphoe Nong Mamong ( Thai : อำเภอ หนอง มะ โมง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the northwestern part of the province of Chai Nat . The Chai Nat Province is located in the northern part of the central region of Thailand .

Neighboring districts are (from the east clockwise): Amphoe Wat Sing and Hankha the province of Chai Nat, and Amphoe Ban Rai , Huai Khot , Nong Chang and Nong Khayang the province of Uthai Thani .

history

The district of Nong Mamong was initially set up on July 15, 1996 as a "branch district" ( King Amphoe ) by separating four tambon from the Wat Sing district .

The Thai government decided on May 15, 2007 to raise all 81 King Amphoe to "normal" Amphoe status in order to simplify administration. With the publication in the Royal Gazette "Issue 124 chapter 46" on August 24, 2007 this decision officially entered into force.

Local administration

There are two municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Nong Mamong (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หนอง มะ โมง ) consisting of the complete Tambon Nong Mamong.
  • Wang Takhian (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล วัง ตะเคียน ) consisting of the complete tambon Wang Takhian.

There are also two " tambon administration organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO)

  • Saphan Hin (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล สะพาน หิน ) consisting of the complete tambon Saphan Hin.
  • Kut Chok (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล กุด จอก ) consisting of the complete Tambon Kut Chok.
