Nong Khayang ( Thai อำเภอ หนองขาหย่าง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) of the province of Uthai Thani . The Uthai Thani Province is located in the northern region of Thailand .

Neighboring counties (clockwise from west): Amphoe Nong Chang , Thap Than and Mueang Uthai Thani in the province of Uthai Thani and the Amphoe Wat Sing and Nong Mamong in the province of Chai Nat .
history
In the Ayutthaya period , Nong Luang ( หนอง หลวง ) was an important border post. When the government changed the status of the district from Khwaeng to Amphoe in 1917 , Nong Luang became part of Uthai Thani Province. The following year the administration was moved to Noen Po, at the same time Nong Luang was renamed Nong Khayang.
economy
Hand-woven silk fabrics , among other things, are made in Nong Khayang County . These special fabrics are also called "Mat-Mi-Silk" ( ผ้ามัดหมี่ , Mudmee Silk ). They are a five-star OTOP product.
