Amr Zaki ( Arabic عمرو زكي, DMG ʿAmr Zakī ) (born April 1, 1983 in Al-Mansura ) is a former Egyptian soccer player who last played for Sanica Boru Elazığspor .
Career
society
Zaki began with club football in the youth of El Mansoura SC and rose here in 2001 to the professional team. He then played at ENPPI Club . Here he increased his performance, became a national player and 2005 top scorer and took third place with ENPPI.
In the 2006/07 season he moved abroad to the Russian representative Lokomotiv Moscow . Here he only played half a season and moved back to his home country to Zamalek SC . At this club he immediately established himself as a constant. For the 2008/09 season he was loaned to the English club Wigan Athletic . Here he got off to a good start and played a successful first half with 10 league goals. In the second half of the season he could not get the same performance, which is why Wigan did not use a purchase option.
In 2010 he was loaned to Hull City and played six games without scoring .
For the 2012/13 season he moved to the Turkish Süper Lig for promoted Sanica Boru Elazığspor . For the winter break of the 2012/13 season he left Elazığspor again.
National team
He is a striker and also plays for the Egyptian national soccer team . With her he won the African Championship in 2006 with 4: 2 n. E. against the Ivory Coast. The cornerstone for Egypt's entry into the final was Amr Zaki's goal to make it 2-1 in the semifinals against Senegal, which he scored shortly after being substituted on. The team was also able to defend the title in 2008 , with Zaki scoring two goals in the semi-final against Ivory Coast and two more goals in the entire tournament. Together with the Angolan Manucho , he was chosen as the best striker of the competition in the "Best XI" team of the tournament.
With Mido , Emad Moteab , Ahmed Hassan , Mohamed Abo Treka , Mohamed Zidan , Hosni Abd-Rabou and El-Hadary, he is one of the most famous football players in Egypt today.
