Mohamed Abo Treka (also Mohamed Aboutreika , Arabic محمد أبو تريكة, DMG Muḥammad Abū Tarīka ; * November 7, 1978 in Giza ) is a former Egyptian soccer player. Life

The Egyptian top scorer of the 2005/06 season (18 goals in 26 games) was only discovered at the age of 26 with the newly promoted Egyptian Tersana SC , where he had been playing since he was 17. He quickly developed into the central hub of his new team and thus became the nation's idol after Hossam Hassan and Mido, who had migrated to England .

In the Egyptian national team Aboutreika was able to establish itself as a "top performer", like in the Africa Cup of Nations 2006 with the decisive cross to the winning goal in the semi-final match against Senegal and the decisive penalty to win against World Cup participants Ivory Coast . In the final of the Africa Cup of 2008 , he scored the winning goal against Cameroon .

Aboutreika is 1.82 meters tall and right-footed. He has played 100 national games in the Egyptian jersey and scored 38 goals. On December 20, 2013, he announced the end of his playing career. He is considered a sponsor of Mohamed Salah .
