In 1889 the district of Breklum was formed from the parish district of Breklum in the Husum district . This consisted of the eleven villages of Almdorf, Borsbüll, Breklum, Fehsholm, Högel, Lütjenholm, Riddorf, Sönnebüll, Struckum, Vollstedt and Wallsbüll.

In 1934 the parish land community was dissolved and the village communities formed independent rural communities. In the same year the municipalities of Borsbüll and Riddorf were incorporated into Breklum and Fehsholm and Wallsbüll to Struckum.

In 1948 the district was dissolved and the seven municipalities formed the Breklum office. With the formation of the district of North Friesland, the office was dissolved in 1970 and the municipalities formed the office of Bredstedt-Land with the municipalities of the offices of Bohmstedt and Joldelund .
