Joachim Paltzo (born January 11, 1912 in Rastenburg ; † January 19, 1944 ) was a German politician ( NSDAP ).

Live and act

From 1919 to March 1931, Paltzo attended elementary school , grammar school and the upper lyceum in Rastenburg. Until 1930 he was a leader in the Hitler Youth (HJ) and in the NS student union. His official entry into the NSDAP took place in 1930. Since April 1931, Paltzo studied mathematics , physics and chemistry (according to other sources, philology) at the Albertus University of Königsberg .

Having earlier been as Gauredner had occurred, Paltzo between 1932 until January 1944 Gaupropagandaleiter of Prussia Gau of the NSDAP. From June 1933 to January 1944 he was also regional cultural administrator for East Prussia and from 12 July 1933 to 1937 head of the regional office in District I (East Prussia). On February 9, 1940, he joined the National Socialist Reichstag as a member of the National Socialist Reichstag in the replacement procedure for the late MP Hermann Bethke , to which he belonged as a representative of constituency 1 (East Prussia) until his death in January 1944.

From September 1939 to September 1942 Paltzo did military service in the Wehrmacht , most recently as a lieutenant in the reserve. After the German invasion of the Soviet Union , Paltzo was one of the leading employees of Erich Koch , the head of the German occupation administration in Ukraine. From September 1942 until his death in January 1944, he was head of the Public Enlightenment and Propaganda Department at the Reich Commissioner for Ukraine.

Paltzo died in fighting on January 19, 1944.
