history
On August 31, 1992, the Minister of the Interior of the State of Brandenburg, Alfred Ziel, gave his approval for the establishment of the Rehbrücke Office, based in Bergholz-Rehbrücke. September 15, 1992 was set as the date on which the office was established. The approval for the formation of the office was initially limited to September 15, 1994. At the time the office was founded, the office comprised the five municipalities of the then Potsdam -Land district:
- Bergholz-Rehbrücke
- Fahlhorst
- Nudow
- Saarmund
- Tremsdorf
- Philippsthal (The community, also from the Potsdam-Land district at that time, was assigned to the Rehbrücke office in accordance with Section 1, Paragraph 4 of the Brandenburg State's official regulations.)
The Rehbrücke office had 4810 inhabitants at the end of 1992 and thus fell short of the target value of 5000 inhabitants for an office specified by the Ministry of the Interior. The time limit for approval was lifted from August 3, 1994.
In an announcement dated April 18, 2002, the Ministry of the Interior of Brandenburg approved the formation of a new Nuthetal community from the communities Bergholz-Rehbrücke, Fahlhorst, Nudow, Philippsthal, Saarmund and Tremsdorf. The merger only became legally effective on October 26, 2003, the municipality of Nuthetal was free of office, and the Rehbrücke office was dissolved. The number of inhabitants of the office almost doubled in the eleven years of the office's existence to 8613 inhabitants (status at the end of 2002).
