Fahlhorst is a street village in the Brandenburg district of Potsdam-Mittelmark . It is part of the municipality of Nuthetal , which arose from a voluntary amalgamation of five previously independent localities. Fahlhorst has 193 inhabitants.
history
The year Fahlhorst was founded is not known, the first documentary mention in the Brandenburg Land Book dates back to 1375 as Valehorst, Valchhorst and describes a place that was created on an elevation in the swampy, pale terrain. Further mentions around 1520 Fallhorst Schulzenhof and 8 Höfe (personal belongings of Frau von Schlabrendorf), 1527 Fagelhorst, and 1670 Valenhorst. Like the neighboring village of Nudow , Fahlhorst also served to supply the Beuthen Castle , which was then the seat of the von der Gröben family . The first owner was Henning von der Gröben . As early as 1416 they sold the village to the von Schlabrendorf family , who kept it after the Thirty Years' War. The village was completely devastated during the war and the population exterminated. Only the half- kissed Erdmann Bannier had survived. After this time, a Vorwerk was built into which all farms were incorporated.
Due to the very good pasture areas, Elector Friedrich Wilhelm bought the Vorwerk in 1671 (there was no village in 1671) and converted it into a dairy farm until the 18th century . Thereafter, this facility was closed and the area was used as a normal farm. Around 1751, as part of his settlement policy, at the behest of Friedrich II. Twelve colonist families (probably soldiers) a. a. recruited from Saxony in order to revive the village by settling in Fahlhorst.
After the Second World War , the Gutsland was divided in the course of the land reform. As a result, an LPG was established here from 1952 , which was dissolved after reunification. In 2003 Fahlhorst merged with four other places to form the municipality of Nuthetal.
The federal motorway 10 , which runs near the village, has been separating Fahlhorst from the neighboring village of Gröben since 1979 , which can be reached via a bridge.
Until around 2003, the center of Fahlhorst looked like a landscape of rubble. After redesigning with EU funding, a park with a semicircular, paved fairground was inaugurated as the new center of the village in December. The newly laid out paths give a view of the renovated manor house.
Incorporation
On October 26, 2003, Fahlhorst was incorporated into the new municipality of Nuthetal.
Hour oak
Until 2004 an oak tree known as the hour oak stood on the central reservation of the motorway between the Fahlhorst bridge and the Nuthe bridge. This was a registered natural monument as the motorway oak . This giant tree was left standing by the National Socialists out of a "special affection for the most German of all trees". In 2004 this tree had to be felled. A sculpture on the Ludwigsfeld Rathausplatz reminds of him today .
