The Amtshausberg is a spur of the Ebenöde in Vlotho . The mountain was originally called Deesberg, and was first mentioned in writing as Theresburg at the end of the 12th century . It has a height of 141.8 m above sea level. NN . The mountain, located directly on the Weser , dominates the northern city panorama together with the Steinberg and Ebenöde. The mountain is located in the north of the district Vlotho . Naturally, it belongs to the Weser Uplands and the Lipper Mountains .
The ruins of Vlotho Castle are located on the Amtshausberg and the remains of the " Schwedenschanze " ramparts are about 500 m northwest of it . In a half-timbered building erected after 1800 in the eastern part of the grounds of Vlotho Castle, the officials of the Vlotho Office worked and lived , from which the name of the mountain can be traced back. In 1889 it was acquired by the city of Vlotho and has been part of the city since then.
The Jugendhof Vlotho and the Ludwig-Jahn Stadium are in the immediate vicinity of Vlotho Castle . The WDR erected a transmission mast on Amthausberg, which was renewed in 2001.
