Amy Buisson (born April 24, 1649 in Geneva , † January 1, 1721 in Avesnes-sur-Helpe ) was a Swiss general in foreign services.

Life

Amy Buisson was the son of the Syndic Jean Buisson (1613-1666) and his third wife Susanne (1623-1669), daughter of the Attorney General Pierre Lect (1593-1630).

He entered French service in 1673 and became a lieutenant in the Swiss Guard until he exchanged this position for a company in the Greder Regiment in 1677 ; During this time he was a member of the Geneva Council of Two Hundred from 1675 .

In 1690 he moved to the Polier Regiment and became a brigadier in 1706 ; In 1715 he acquired the Bern regiment Hans Rudolf von May (1652–1715), which fought for the Bourbon royal house . He was the commander of the permanent places Huy , Charleroi , Ypres , Namur and Ghent , all of which are in what is now Belgium.

In 1716, Amy Buisson drafted a plan for new city ​​fortifications in Geneva .
