Amy Linnéa Deasismont (born April 15, 1992 in Norrköping ; occasional stage name Amy Diamond ) is a Swedish singer and actress.

Biography and Achievements

Amy Deasismont was born in Norrköping on April 15, 1992 to an English father and a Swedish mother. Amy has an older and two younger sisters. Soon after she was born, she moved to England with her family . When she was four and a half years old, her family moved back to Sweden from England . Here she took lessons at a theater and dance school when she was eight. In the same year she was on the stage of the talent show Småstjärnorna ("Little Stars") , but in 2002 she also played a role in the Swedish TV thriller De drabbade . After the success in the talent show, she turned her future dreams towards music . Since then she has attended eight national talent competitions, of which she has won seven. She successfully took part in the talent shows Minimelodifestivalen and Super Troupers, which are very respected in Sweden . In the latter, she won a Shakira title, ( Underneath your clothes ), for whose performance she was even praised by the first interpreter.

Her first single What's In It For Me , which was released in Scandinavia in February 2005 , reached number 1 in the Swedish charts in April 2005 and, like her debut album This Is Me Now , which was released in May 2005 , already went platinum. After Scandinavia, What's In It For Me was released in Poland and the Czech Republic in the first week of October 2005 in Germany, where it reached 36th place in the charts. In Sweden, on the other hand, it was the third best-selling single in 2005 and, along with her second ( Welcome To The City ) and third ( Shooting Star ) single, one of the most played songs on Swedish radio. Amy has also gained a foothold in Norway. Was also What's In It For Me u. a. nominated at the Swedish Grammis in the "Best Song" category.

Welcome To The City was awarded gold in Sweden, as did the latest album Still Me Still Now , released in May 2006 , although this happened at a time when the CD was not even available in stores. Most of the songs on this album are written by Ten Songs (Tysper / Mack / Grizzly) who also played on their last album. Don't Cry Your Heart Out , Big Guns and It Can Only Get Better have already been released from the new album, but unlike Amy's first singles, they have not yet achieved top sales.

In 2006 Amy was also nominated in various galas all over Scandinavia ( Grammis , Rockbjörnen , [NRJ] Radio Awards, Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards Stockholm and Nordic Hit Music Awards ) and won three awards. Besides, she was the youngest artist ever to be nominated by Grammis.

On February 9th, 2008 Amy Diamond took part in the 1st preliminary round of the Swedish ESC preliminary round , Melodifestivalen , with the song 'Thank you' in Gothenburg . She made it straight to the final, which was held on March 15, 2008 in the Globen in Stockholm . She ultimately came in eighth.
