Anatol Regnier (born January 6, 1945 in Sankt Heinrich ) is a writer , chanson singer and guitarist .

Anatol Regnier was born in 1945 as the second child of Pamela Wedekind and Charles Regnier . One of his sisters is the actress Carola Regnier . He learned to play the guitar at an early age. He studied at the Royal College of Music in London and then toured home and abroad as a guitarist. For a long time he lectured at the Conservatory in Munich . In 1985 he emigrated to Australia with his wife, the well-known Israeli singer Nehama Hendel (1936–1998), and their two children . In 1997 he published a book about the fate of a Jewish family from Galicia in Bolechow . In 2003 he published his family biography You on Your Highest Roof , in which he tells the life story of his grandmother, the actress Tilly Wedekind (1886–1970). In 2005 Regnier published an audio CD, Greife wacker nach der Sin, with leaning songs and poems by his grandfather Frank Wedekind , which he interpreted together with his sister Carola Regnier. In 2008, the biography Frank Wedekind followed - a male tragedy , a standard work on the playwright. In 2014 the book We Later Born - Children of Famous Parents was published .

Today Anatol Regnier lives in second marriage in Munich and on Lake Starnberg .

In 2005 Regnier received the Ernst Hoferichter Prize of the City of Munich and in 2012 the Schwabing Art Prize (honorary prize). In 2007 Regnier was appointed to the Munich tower scribe. He is a member of the PEN Center Germany .
