history
The band was formed in late 2005 and released their debut EP Tonight the City Burns in spring 2007. This release was followed by the EP This Is Our Machine and Nothing Can Stop It (October 2007), with vocals by Cahir O'Doherty of Fighting with Wire and Jetplane Landing . At the time they recorded their debut album in the studio, they also went on a solo tour through Great Britain, but also played concerts with other bands such as High on Fire , Crippled Black Phoenix , 65daysofstatic or Yourcodenameis: milo . At that time they were also noticed by music critics and DJs, Huw Stephens of BBC Radio 1 was the first to play one of their tracks on national radio.
Their debut album, named after them, was released in April 2009 and received consistently positive reviews in music magazines such as Kerrang! , RockSound , Drowned In Sound , Visions and Metal Hammer . They spent the rest of the year performing live in the UK, which received positive coverage in magazines and blogs alike. In February 2010 the EP The Letters followed .
In September 2011, founding member Tony Wright announced his departure from the band. He was replaced by Niall Kennedy for the tour that was then in progress. Tony Wright is now active as a singer-songwriter under the name VerseChorusVerse.
In March 2013, the band released their third studio album, All hail bright futures , which was released under the Sargent House label. The album received rather sympathetic reviews from critics, so Metacritic awarded 67 out of 100 points. In the summer of 2014 the band toured Europe.
In July 2014 the band began recording their fourth album Heirs , which was released in 2015.
