André Martín Carrillo Díaz (born June 14, 1991 in Lima ), better known as André Carrillo , is a Peruvian football player . He is currently under contract with the Saudi Arabian association Al-Hilal .

Club career

Alianza Lima

After joining the Alianza Lima junior team in 2007 , André Carrillo was first used on December 5, 2009 for the men's team of his home club. In the 2-2 draw against Universidad César Vallejo , he was substituted on in the 75th minute. After two further short appearances in May 2010, the young winger was more regular from September. In the first four games of 2011 Carrillo scored all of the three goals he could score for Lima.

Sporting Lisbon

For the 2011/12 season , the Peruvian was signed by the Portuguese first division club Sporting Lisbon . During the first season for the Portuguese, Carrillo played almost all of the games, but was mainly substituted on or off. In the 2011/12 UEFA Europa League , Sporting failed in the semi-finals against Spanish representatives Athletic Bilbao . The Peruvian’s stakes didn’t change much in the 2012/13 season either. Only four players had a total of more appearances than Carrillo, but the right winger was mostly substituted on or off. In the league, he and his team only reached seventh place after the strong preseason and had four different head coaches due to layoffs. Since Sporting was eliminated early in the cup, the club did not get a starting place for a European club competition for the first time since 1976. After Leonardo Jardim had taken over the coaching position at Sporting for one year in the Primeira Liga 2013/14 , Carrillo's team achieved the runner-up and the associated qualification for the UEFA Champions League 2014/15 . There, the club reached third place during the group stage and thus the sixteenth finals of the Europa League , but was eliminated against the German team of VfL Wolfsburg . André Carrillo played in all international Sportings games this season. In the Primeira Liga 2014/15 , the club reached third place and re-qualified for the Champions League . In addition, the Peruvian won the national cup and the subsequent Super Cup with his team . These should remain the only two titles in his time with Sporting Lisbon. After the club tried unsuccessfully for many months to extend the winger's contract, Carrillo was suspended in October 2015.

Benfica Lisbon

After the suspension and break since October 2015, Sporting announced in February 2016 that Carrillo will be signed by city rivals and reigning champions Benfica Lisbon from the 2016/17 season . There he was used in all competitions primarily as a joker on both offensive flanks and won the championship , cup and super cup with his new team . In addition to winning all national competitions, Benfica reached the round of 16 in the 2016/17 UEFA Champions League , where they were eliminated by German representative Borussia Dortmund .

Watford FC

In the 2017/18 season, shortly before the end of the transfer phase, Carrillo was signed on loan from English first division club Watford , where he met Marco Silva on his former coach at Sporting Lisbon.

Al-Hilal

In June 2018 Carillo was awarded to the Saudi Arabian association Al-Hilal. The rental fee was 4 million euros. The club then signed the Peruvian for the 2019/2020 season. The transfer fee was 9.5 million euros.

National team

After André Carrillo had previously been nominated several times for the Peruvian national soccer team , he played for the first time during the group stage of the Copa America on July 12, 2011 against Chile . In an unfortunate debut, he scored an own goal to make it 0-1 after being substituted on in the 72nd minute in stoppage time. The Peruvians still reached the third place in the tournament, but Carrillo was no longer used. From the friendly against Tunisia in February 2012, he was used more regularly. At the Copa América 2015 Peru reached third place again with Carrillo in the squad . The winger was used in four out of six games.

At the 2018 World Cup , he was used in all three preliminary round matches in Peru and scored the opening goal in the last group game, the 2-0 win against Australia, which, however, could not prevent the early elimination.
