In 2013 he started for the Goeleven team. After the seventh race, he finished seventh in the world championship with 55 points. At the eighth round on the Moscow Raceway Antonelli crashed on July 21 at 13:32 between curves 14 and 15 on a wet road after collision with Massimo Roccoli and was followed by his driving behind him compatriot Lorenzo Zanetti , who through the spray propelled the front of him Motorcycles could hardly see, run over. He is the second dead person in the Supersport World Championship after Craig Jones . After the race was stopped, the organizers were faced with severe criticism that the race had even started under the extremely adverse track conditions.
