Andrea Becker

Andrea Becker (born April 6, 1970 in Saarbrücken ) is a German administrative lawyer and political officer . She has been Deputy Director of the Saarland Parliament since 2018 and was State Secretary in the Saarland Ministry for Education and Culture from 2012 to 2017 .

Life

After graduating from the Ludwigsgymnasium Saarbrücken in 1989, she began studying law at the University of Saarland , which she completed in 1994 with the first state examination. She completed the following legal traineeship at the Saarbrücken Higher Regional Court up to the second state examination . In 1996 the lawyer began studying European law at the Europa-Institut Saarbrücken , which she completed in 1997 with a certificate in European studies . As a result, Becker held various positions at the Saarland Liaison Office at the European Union in Brussels , the Saarland representation at the federal government in Bonn and Berlin , most recently as head of the Federal Council coordination, law, mediation committee and investigation committees of the German Bundestag .

On May 9, 2012 Andrea Becker was appointed State Secretary of the Saarland Ministry of Education and Culture in the Kramp-Karrenbauer II cabinet by Minister Ulrich Commerçon .

Since the beginning of 2018 she has held the office of Vice Director of the Saarland State Parliament.

Becker is a member of the SPD .
