Andrea Carpano (born March 9, 1976 in Trento ) is a former Italian ice hockey goalkeeper who was most recently under contract with SHC Fassa in the Italian A1 series .

Career

Andrea Carpano started his career in the youth department of SHC Fassa . In the 1992/93 season he made the leap to Serie A1 at his home club . He then spent two seasons with Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in the Canadian Junior League Ontario Hockey League , before he again guarded the goal of the Fassaner team until 2000. He then played for EC Bad Nauheim before moving to Haukat Järvenpää in Mestis in Finland that same year . In 2001 he returned to his hometown club and stayed with him for another five seasons. In the summer of 2006 he signed a contract with SG Pontebba , for which he was in goal for several years.

In spring 2010 he switched to HC Pustertal , where he was back-up for Jeff Jakaitis . In the summer of 2010 he returned to SHC Fassa, where he was substitute goalkeeper behind the Canadian Frank Doyle . After the 2010/11 season Carpano ended his active career.

International

For Italy , Carpano took part in the junior division at the U18 European Junior Championship in 1993 , the U18 Junior B European Championship in 1994 and the U20 Junior B World Championships in 1994 and 1995 . Furthermore, he was in his country's squad at the A World Championships in 1999 , 2000 , 2001 , 2002 and 2007 .
