While studying philosophy , he gained his first experience as a trainer in Finland, France and Italy. In 2012 he became the assistant coach of Alberto Salomoni at SC Potsdam in the women's German volleyball league . There he worked until the end of the 2013/14 season, before becoming assistant coach at Robur Tiboni Urbino in Serie A1 , the highest Italian volleyball league . After a season he left the club again to be the head coach of Cuneo Granda Volley in the second Italian division.

At the end of May 2017, Dresdner SC announced the engagement of Andrea Ebana as the successor to Jairo Hooi . Ebana signed a two-year contract in Dresden as assistant coach to Alexander Waibl until 2019. For the 2018/19 season he took over the post of head coach at Pallavolo Don Colleoni . At the beginning of March 2019, the team was in fourth place in the league and thus only three points behind a place that would qualify for participation in the play-off round. At the end of March 2019, the club and coach surprisingly split up. According to the association, the separation took place amicably. Ebana's successor was Stefano Locatelli .
