player

Hooi got into volleyball through his father. Hennie Hooi, who comes from Curacao , played for Longa Lichtenvoorde , among others . Jairo was active in the Netherlands in Doetinchem , at Dynamo Apeldoorn , Landstede Zwolle and Ortec Rotterdam Nesselande . He won the national championship three times and the cup four times. In 2007 the international went to Turkey for Halkbank Ankara . Because the club had too many foreigners in the squad, Hooi returned to Apeldoorn after a year. In 2010 he moved to the German Bundesliga club Moerser SC . From 2011 to 2014 the middle blocker played for league competitor Chemie Volley Mitteldeutschland . In the 2014/15 season, Hooi was active in Greece at Panathinaikos Athens .

Trainer

After his playing days, Hooi became a youth coach in the Netherlands. At the end of October 2016, he became Michal Masek's successor , assistant coach of the Dresdner SC women's Bundesliga team, which was trained by Alexander Waibl . He received a one-year contract with the German champions and cup winners. In the 2016/17 season, the Dresden women played a mixed season, at the end of which there were various personnel changes. According to trainer Alexander Waibl, there were different views of him and Hooi in different areas. For these reasons, the club announced at the end of May 2017 that the contract that expired at the end of the season would not be extended. His successor at the Dresden Bundesliga club was the Italian Andrea Ebana at the beginning of the 2017/18 season.
