Andrea Verpoorten

Andrea Christina Verpoorten (born August 17, 1973 in Cologne ) is a German politician ( CDU ). She belonged to the North Rhine-Westphalia state parliament for the 15th electoral period (2010 to 2012).

Andrea Verpoorten put the Abitur at the Archbishop's Irmgardis-Gymnasium in Cologne Bayenthal and studied at the University of Cologne Law . After completing her legal clerkship at the Cologne Higher Regional Court, she completed her studies in 2002 with the second state examination.

Andrea Verpoorten joined the CDU in 1991 and was initially active in the Bayenthal / Marienburg local association and in the Cologne district association of the CDU. In the state elections in 2010 she won constituency 13 (Cologne I) in the south of Cologne with 31.8% against Ingrid Hack (SPD), who achieved 30.2%. In the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2012 , however, she lost 27.7% of the SPD candidate Hack, who achieved 35.9%. From 2012 to 2014 Andrea Verpoorten was treasurer of the CDU North Rhine-Westphalia . Since July 2016 she has been a member of the board of the Zollernalb district association of the CDU Baden-Württemberg .

From August 2002 to February 2011 she worked as a lawyer in a tax and commercial law firm in Bonn. Between September 2011 and December 2013 she worked for KPMG Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft in Cologne. Since January 2014 she has been working for the Association of the German Insurance Industry in Berlin.

Andrea Verpoorten has been married to the Baden-Württemberg Bundestag member Thomas Bareiß (CDU) since September 2016 . She lives in Balingen .
