Andreas Alexander von Lingen (born September 26, 1792 in Reval , † May 4, 1866 in Riga ) was a Russian general of the artillery .

Life

origin

Andreas Alexander von Lingen came from the German-Baltic noble family von Lingen . On December 8, 1845 he was accepted into the nobility register of the Ösel knighthood , followed by his cousin Magnus von Lingen (1789–1865) and his son Karl von Lingen as a Russian privy councilor in Saint Petersburg . His father was the titular counselor Christian Christoph von Lingen (1744-1808), who was married to Christine Helene Juergens (1758-1819) for the second time.

Military career

Lingen served as an artillery officer in the Imperial Russian Army from 1809 . During the Russo-Turkish War 1828/29 he was in 1828 commander of an artillery - Brigade . In 1833 he was promoted to major general. From 1837 to 1838 he was a brigade commander in the infantry in the Caucasus . He was chief of the Livonian artillery garrisons from 1840 to 1861 and was promoted to lieutenant general in 1848 and later retired as general of the artillery.

family

Lingen married Anna (Annette) von Schulmann (1810–1862), with whom he had the following children:

  • Charlotte Helene (1831–1901) ⚭ Rudolf Huhn († 1859)
  • Gustav Ferdinand (1832–1882), Russian major general ⚭ Margarethe Pauline von Lingen (1835–1884), daughter of his brother Magnus von Lingen (1789–1865), mayor of Reval.
