Andreas Ebel (born March 21, 1971 in Celle ) is a German CDU politician in Lower Saxony. Since 2014 he's district administrator of the district Gifhorn .

Life

Ebel grew up in Hassel near Celle. As a student he became a member of the Junge Union and later joined the CDU. He completed training as a police officer at the Federal Border Police in Gifhorn . During his subsequent career, he obtained his Abitur in 1994 at the Kleine Burg evening high school in Braunschweig . He began studying forest sciences at the University of Göttingen , where he graduated with a degree in forestry. He then worked as a consultant for the Frankfurt internet company newtron and as managing director of the competence network for sustainable wood use. In 2006 he received his doctorate as a forest scientist at the University of Göttingen. The topic of his dissertation is pressure distribution on contact surfaces under forest tires.

From 2007 to 2008 Ebel was a research assistant for Henning Otte, member of the CDU Bundestag . In 2008 Ebel moved to the state administration of Lower Saxony, where he worked as a personal advisor to the Minister of Social Affairs, Mechthild Ross-Luttmann (CDU). He became a senior scientific adviser and was the deputy head of the department responsible for matters relating to people with disabilities. For one year Ebel was delegated to the administration of the Celle district . Finally he returned to the Ministry of Social Affairs, where he was responsible for people with a migration background.

Ebel was nominated as the top candidate of the CDU for the district election in the Gifhorn district. On May 25, 2014, he won the first ballot with around 51% of the vote, thus replacing Marion Lau ( SPD ) on November 1, 2014 , who had not run for election again.

Ebel is married and lives in Steinhorst . The couple have a daughter and a son.
