Andreas Güntner (born July 21, 1988 in Munich ) is a former German soccer player who was under contract with the Berlin regional league team BFC Dynamo until summer 2016 .

Career

Andreas Güntner began his career as a soccer player in 1997 at TSV Kareth-Lappersdorf . In 2000 he went to Munich and attended the competitive sports class of the Theodolinden-Gymnasium before returning to Regensburg to the DFB base there. He was also appointed to the Bayern team. In 2003 he moved to the youth department of SSV Jahn Regensburg .

As a youth player, Güntner was used in the U-23. In 2007 he moved up to the squad of the first team and came in December of that year in the 1-1 draw against the Stuttgarter Kickers in the Regionalliga Süd for a short term. After the club had qualified for the third division , he made his debut in a 2-2 draw against FC Carl Zeiss Jena at the start of the season in German professional football. Güntner was in the starting line-up before being replaced by offensive player Nico Beigang in the 56th minute when the score was 2-0 . In September 2009 he turned his back on Jahn and moved to the University of Memphis to study international business . During this time he played for the Memphis Tigers on the university soccer team. After three years, he returned to Regensburg in spring 2013 and played for the second team of SSV Jahn Regensburg before moving up to the first team in summer 2013. In the 2013/14 season he became a regular in the defensive midfield , at the end of the season his contract was extended for another year.

In May 2015 Güntner moved to Berlin for BFC Dynamo , where he met his trainer from Jahn Regensburg's times, Thomas Stratos .

Güntner is engaged to tennis player Courtney Collins.
