Andreas Gundlach

Andreas Gundlach (* 1975 in Hanover , Lower Saxony ) is a German composer , pianist and keyboard player .

Career

After graduating from high school, Andreas Gundlach studied piano with Michael Fuchs and Günter Hörig and composition with Rainer Lischka in Dresden from 1995 to 1999 at the Carl Maria von Weber Academy of Music . He later taught jazz piano and improvisation at the same university in Dresden and at the "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" university of music and theater in Leipzig .

Gundlach has been a member of the Dresdner Sinfoniker since 1997 , with whom he was involved in several recordings and world premieres with music by Torsten Rasch , Avet Terterian , John Williams , Henry Mex and Benjamin Yosupof ; In 1999 he was the keyboardist for the European premiere of John McLaughlin's Apocalypse with the same orchestra.

Gundlach also works as a freelance pianist; he appears together with Sarah Kaiser , Gregor Meyle , Gunther Emmerlich and Nina Hagen , among others . As a substitute, he played with Saga in 2011 . As a pianist he can also be heard on recordings with Michael Schulz ( Blue Tune ), Polarkreis 18 ( The Color of Snow ), Jörg Widmoser and audio books.

Gundlach has been working with the Chinese singer Ni Xan Quin since 2016. They combine traditional Chinese singing with contemporary electronic sounds and Tibetan aspects. With the formation Niniandi they won the highest award at the “Silk Road Festival” in Xi'an in September 2016 . In addition, he gives concerts with his solo program as a pianist and keyboard player in various bands.
