Andreas Mrosek (born January 18, 1958 in Dessau ) is a German engineer , entrepreneur , strength athlete and politician ( AfD , formerly CDU ). He has been a member of the 19th German Bundestag for the AfD since the 2017 federal election and was a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt from 2016 to 2018 .

Life

Career

After attending the Polytechnic High School (POS) and the children's and youth sports school in Halle (wrestling section), he completed an apprenticeship as a toolmaker and did military service in the National People's Army (NVA) from 1976 to 1979 .

In 1979/80 he worked as a deckhand / cabin boy and from 1981 to 1983 as an able seaman . In 1984 he obtained his university entrance qualification and studied navigation at the Maritime Engineering College in Warnemünde / Wustrow . In 1989 he graduated with a degree in ship command and worked on various ships. From 1995 to 2000 he was managing director of IKF Bauträger GmbH and in 1998/99 authorized signatory of Großring Bauträger GmbH. From 2000 to 2007 he was managing director of Mykoplant GmbH, which was dissolved in 2007 when insolvency proceedings were opened. From 2006 to the end of 2010 he was a member of the board of Mykoplant Biotechnologie AG, which also opened insolvency proceedings in 2011. In 2007 he became a canal helmsman on the Kiel Canal .

Mrosek is married and has two children. He lives in Dessau.

Sports

Mrosek was a wrestler at BSG Motor Dessau , and for several years at the children's and youth sports school in Halle (Saale) . He won several medals at GDR championships, children's and youth spartakiads and international tournaments. Mrosek is a four-time world and European champion and an eight-time German bench press champion in the weight class up to 125 kg.

politics

In the state elections in Saxony-Anhalt in 2002 , Mrosek ran unsuccessfully as a non- party to the 11th place for the right-wing extremist DVU spin-off Freedom German People's Party (FDVP), which received 0.8 percent of the votes nationwide.

Mrosek was a member of the CDU from 2002 to 2012 and was a member of the Dessau-Roßlau city ​​council from 2002 to 2004 .

In 2013 Mrosek joined the AfD and was re-elected to the city council of Dessau-Roßlau for this party in 2014. Mrosek ran unsuccessfully in 2014 for the mayoral election in Dessau-Roßlau ; he achieved a result of 6.7 percent of the vote in the main election. Mrosek has been chairman of the AfD district association Dessau-Roßlau since 2015 .

In the state elections in Saxony-Anhalt in 2016 , Mrosek entered the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt with 25.5 percent of the first votes as a direct candidate of his party in the constituency of Dessau-Roßlau (constituency 26) . He was chairman of the committee for regional development and transport. On March 17, 2018, Mrosek told the President of the State Parliament of Saxony-Anhalt that he would be giving up his mandate as of April 15, 2018. The seat that became vacant went to Daniel Wald .

In the 2017 federal election , he ran both as a direct candidate in the Dessau-Wittenberg federal constituency and through his party's state list . He entered the 19th German Bundestag via the state list .

In the 19th German Bundestag, Mrosek is a full member of the sports committee as well as the committee for transport and digital infrastructure and political spokesman for the AfD parliamentary group for sea and inland waterway transport. Mrosek is also a deputy member of the AfD parliamentary group in the investigation committee "Car toll" .

On May 26, 2019, Mrosek was re-elected to the Dessau-Roßlau city council and is chairman of the AfD city council group. He was also elected chairman of the committee for economy, urban development and tourism of the city of Dessau-Roßlau. Mrosek is also a member of the main and personnel committee of the city of Dessau-Roßlau and sits on the administrative advisory board of Dessau Stadtwerke DVV.
