Andreas Schmauder

Andreas Schmauder (* 1966 in Metzingen ) is a German historian , archivist , director of the Landesmuseum Koblenz and head of the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress cultural center.

Life

Schmauder studied Medieval History, Modern History, Art History and Classical Archeology at the University of Tübingen . From 1990 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Historical Regional Studies and Historical Auxiliary Sciences . He received his doctorate in 1996 at the University of Tübingen with a dissertation on " Poor Konrad ". Schmauder attended the archive school in Marburg and began his archival legal clerkship in 1997. In 1999 he succeeded Peter Eitel as the city ​​archivist in Ravensburg, Upper Swabia. The Humpis-Quartier Museum of City History was designed under his leadership, and he was its director from 2009 to 2018. In 2018 he became head of the Landesmuseum Koblenz and the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress cultural center. He has been a lecturer since 1999 and honorary professor at the Faculty of Philosophy and History at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen since 2015 .
