Andreas Schulze (animal filmmaker)

Andreas Schulze (born January 15, 1965 in Hamburg ; † December 10, 2010 ) was a German animal filmmaker , biologist and Germanist .

Life

After four semesters of biology, Andreas Schulze then studied German. Since 1979 he has been a member of the State Association for Bird Protection in Bavaria (LBV). He was a freelancer for the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation and author or editor of numerous films, books and sound carriers about animals, especially domestic birds and mammals . With " The Birds of Europe, North Africa and the Middle East " he produced 17 sound carriers that he co-edited, containing 819 species of birds in over 19 hours and thus forming the most extensive work in the history of ornithology . He worked with Karl-Heinz Dingler and Christian Fackelmann, among others . In 1989 he was awarded the Bruno H. Schubert Prize by the Bruno H. Schubert Foundation . Andreas Schulze died after a long and serious illness at the age of 45 on December 10, 2010. He left behind two children. The funeral service took place on December 16 in the presence of over 100 people in Munich's Ostfriedhof .
