Andreas Skoglund (born March 22, 2001 ) is a Norwegian Nordic combined athlete .

Career

Skoglund, who starts Molde Og omegn if , made his international debut on August 29, 2014 at the School Grand Prix in Oberstdorf . He reached ninth place and started his series among the top ten, which he achieved in all of his six participations in the Youth Cup . At the end of January 2018, Skoglund made his debut in Rena in the Continental Cup and won his first points straight away. About a week later he started at the 2018 Junior World Championships in Kandersteg . While he was not used in the sprint, he finished 22nd in the Gundersen singles. Together with Jens Lurås Oftebro , Simen Kvarstad and Einar Lurås Oftebro , he won the bronze medal with the team. He made his first international appearance in winter 2018/19 at the Junior World Championships 2019 in Lahti , where he presented himself in top form. Although Skoglund initially missed the medal ranks as fifth in the sprint, he was able to make up for this omission together with Aleksander Skoglund , Kasper Moen Flatla and Jens Lurås Oftebro in the team by winning the silver medal. In the final Gundersen competition on the normal hill and over ten kilometers, he also took third place behind Johannes Lamparter and Julian Schmid . Then Skoglund started again in the Continental Cup , where he achieved his best result to date with seventh place in Rena. Because of these achievements, he was nominated for the national team at the World Cup race in Oslo in March , but missed the points as 37th.

In summer 2019 Skoglund made his debut in the Grand Prix . Already on his second start he reached the points at the mass start in Klingenthal . Finally, he collected nine points in the highest competition series in the summer. At the beginning of December Skoglund was part of the national group at the home world cup in Lillehammer . Already on the first day of the competition he fought his way up to 28th place after jumping and thus won his first World Cup points. The next day he finished in a strong 16th place, which is why he initially remained in the Norwegian World Cup team. In January 2020, he started again in the second-rate Continental Cup , where he did not manage in the first competitions. It was not until the second day of the competition in Rena that Skoglund showed his potential again when, after a good jump, he moved up to third place and thus achieved his first podium position. The Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2020 in Oberwiesenthal began for Skoglund with a disqualification in the Gundersen Singles, which ruined his ambitions for an individual medal. Two days later he was still part of the Norwegian mixed team with Sebastian Østvold , Marte Leinan Lund and Gyda Westvold Hansen , with which he won the junior world title ahead of the German and Japanese teams.
