Andreas Voss (writer)
Andreas Voss (born March 12, 1857 in Syke near Bremen ; † April 9, 1924 in Heiligendamm ) was a German horticultural writer. Its official botanical author abbreviation is " Voss ".
Live and act
Voss worked as a gardener in Hildesheim and Göttingen. He was the editor of the 3rd edition of Vilmorin's flower gardening (1894-1896) and wrote the text together with August Siebert . He wrote the work Botanical Aid and Dictionary , 6th edition 1922. He also wrote International Uniform Plant Names , 1903 and Der Botanikerspiegel 1916.
Honor taxon
In his honor, Carl Ernst Otto Kuntze named the genus Vossianthus , now a synonym for Sparrmannia , from the plant family of the mallow family (Malvaceae).
