Andreas Zeyer (born June 9, 1968 in Neresheim ) is a former German soccer player .

Club career

Zeyer made his debut in 1987 for SSV Ulm 1846 in German professional football, which he had joined from the Heidenheim SB before the start of the season together with his twin brother Michael . The then second division missed relegation at the end of the 1987/88 season. He had become a regular player under coach Werner Nickel in the second half of the season. In the following season he kept his regular place under the new coach Klaus Toppmöller in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg . After the club dropped out of the promotion race early and he was one of the regulars after a coach change from Toppmöller to Erich Steer , he left the club after 30 third division games and returned to the 2nd Bundesliga.

Zeyer then played from 1989 to 2004 at SC Freiburg , with a two-year break at Hamburger SV , Karlsruher SC and VfL Bochum . In total, Zeyer played 402 times for Freiburg, including 236 times in the 1st Bundesliga , which is still the first division record for the Breisgauers.
