Andreas Seisser , Knight of Seisser since 1885 (born December 1, 1837 in Würzburg , † September 15, 1911 in Fürstenfeldbruck ) was President of the Bavarian State Bank from 1898 to 1909 .

Life

Seisser was born in 1837 as the son of the cloth merchant and trimmings maker Michael-Philipp Seisser. The family has been running a trading house in the Kürschnerhof in Würzburg since the end of the 18th century, which still exists today.

Seisser studied at the Julius Maximilians University and was active in the Corps Bavaria Würzburg in 1857 . After completing his studies, he was appointed royal ministerial advisor , and in 1901 - initially in Nuremberg - ministerial director of the royal bank. On February 1, 1900, he was given the honorary title of “Excellence” and retired. Seisser was raised to the personal nobility by being awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Bavarian Crown and was allowed to call himself "Knight of Seisser" after being entered in the nobility register on December 28, 1885. In 1901 he received the commander of this order. In 1906 he was also knight II class with star of the Order of Merit of St. Michael . Seisser was Commander First Class of the Duke of Saxony-Ernestine House Order and also State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance .

Andreas Ritter von Seisser's first marriage was Else Leiblein, daughter of Valentin Leiblein and Katharina Leiblein nee. Heart. The marriage had three children. Andreas von Seisser died on September 15, 1911 in Fürstenfeldbruck near Munich. Andreas von Seisser was the uncle of the head of the Bavarian State Police , Colonel Hans von Seisser , who was involved in the suppression of the Hitler putsch .

Coat of arms (submitted as Seisser's family coat of arms to the Bavarian Reichsheroldenamt by Andreas von Seisser and adopted without change as a personal coat of arms from the same, on the occasion of its inclusion in the Bavarian aristocratic register): Coat of arms divided. When Andreas von Seisser's nephew, Colonel Hans Seisser, was also ennobled in 1914, he donated a new coat of arms that, instead of the three stars of the family coat of arms, shows an open silver oath hand from the coat of arms of the city of Bapaume. The golden rafter of the family coat of arms was retained.
