The Roman Catholic Andreaskirche Döllach in the community of Großkirchheim is a branch church of the parish Sagritz . It was first mentioned in a document in 1389.

Building description

The house of worship is a late Gothic building. The originally pointed arched windows were replaced by rectangular windows in the baroque era . The tower with three sound storeys attached to the south of the choir is crowned by a Biedermeier dome. Josef Grassmayr cast a bell in 1738 . The serpentine church portals have round bar profiles. The single nave nave is flat-roofed. The ceiling painting in honor of Bishop Kahn was created in 1915. The west gallery has two floors. The organ with a Baroque style housing was built into the parapet of the gallery by the Rieger company in 1988 . A pointed triumphal arch connects the nave and the two-bay choir with a three-eighth end. In the 15th century choir, a ribbed vault rises on consoles. The frescoes in the choir were uncovered in 1983. Death and the coronation of Mary are depicted on the left and saints on the right. The choir vault is painted with tendrils. A profiled pointed arch opening leads from the south wall of the choir into the tower. The entrance to the sacristy is in the north wall of the choir.

The polychrome statues of the Apostle Andrew and St. Joseph stand in canopy niches to the side . A Lourdes grotto has been incorporated into the side altar (from 1902) . The paintings of the four Latin church fathers can be seen on the pulpit from 1906. The church also features a crucifix , a Pietà , a group of guardian angels and pictures of the Stations of the Cross .
