Together with Bernd Hillemeier, he received the Berlin-Brandenburg Innovation Prize 2006 for the method of locating tensioning wire breaks in transverse tendons of prestressed concrete bridges . Walther did his doctorate at the Technical University of Berlin under Bernd Hillemeier on non-destructive testing of prestressing steel . He has been an entrepreneur in Brandenburg an der Havel since 2009 and at KIWA since 2018 .

Teaching and Research

Andrei Walther's main research areas are building material testing and tension wire break detection . From 2011 to 2016 Andrei Walther was a lecturer at the FH Potsdam . In the 2015 summer semester, he also took on a visiting professorship for building materials at the HafenCity University (HCU) in Hamburg .

Since 2016 he has been honorary professor for building analysis and non-destructive testing methods at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam .
