Andrew Cox (born September 6, 1990 in Auckland ) is a New Zealand ice hockey player who has played for Perth Thunder in the Australian Ice Hockey League since 2012 .

Career

Andrew Cox played at the beginning of his career as a hockey player in Finland in the U20 team of the fourth division Uudenkaupungin Jää-Kotkat . In 2010 he returned to the southern hemisphere and initially played for West Coast Avalanche in the lower-class Western Australian Super League . In 2011 he moved to league rivals Northern Vikings. During the summer break in Australia he played a few games in Finland again in early 2012, this time with Karhu-Kissat Vantaa in the II-divisioona . At the beginning of the 2012 season he returned to the Northern Vikings. During the current season he was then committed by Perth Thunder from the Australian Ice Hockey League . In addition to his assignments in Perth, he also played once again for the Northern Vikings in 2017. In 2018 he took part in the AIHL All-Star Game.

International

For New Zealand , Cox took part in the World Championships of Division II in 2011 , 2012 , 2013 , 2014 , when he was the top scorer and - after the Spaniard Oriol Boronat - the second best scorer of the tournament and was voted the best player of his team in 2015 , 2016 , 2017 and 2018 part.
