Andrzej Czaja
Andrzej Konrad Czaja (born December 12, 1963 in Olesno in the powiat Oleski , Opolski Voivodeship (German: Opole) , Poland ) is Bishop of Opole .
Life
He studied philosophy and Catholic theology from 1982 to 1988 and was ordained a deacon on October 25, 1987 by the auxiliary bishop of Opole, Gerard Alfons Kusz . On May 11, 1988, he received the sacrament of ordination through Bishop Jan Bagiński . In 1989 he continued his studies at the Catholic University of Lublin and graduated with a doctorate in 1994: Jedna Osoba w wielu osobach. In 1994 he became assistant professor at the Theological Faculty of the University of Opole . In 1996 he received a two-year scholarship at the Johann Adam Möhler Institute for Ecumenism in Paderborn , where he worked on his theological habilitation, which was published in 2003 under the title Credo in Spiritum Vivificantem. On August 14, 2009, Pope Benedict XVI appointed Andrzej Czaja as Bishop of Opole; the episcopal ordination donated to him the bishop of Opole, Archbishop Alfons Nossol on August 29, 2009 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Damian Zimoń , the Archbishop of Katowice , and Jan Walenty Wieczorek , the Bishop of Gliwice . and Jan Bagiński , auxiliary bishop in Opole.
In the Polish Bishops' Conference , Czaja is the chairman of the Commission for the Doctrine of the Faith. As Bishop of Opole, he is also Grand Chancellor of the Theological Faculty at Opole University.
